Bill Van Gorder, 71, of Ashland, Ore., passed away June 21, 2012, at his home after a long struggle with arthritis and a failing heart. Bill was born in Alamosa, Colo., October 25, 1940, and moved to the West Coast in his early life.

Bill was an avid sportsman. He fished the lakes of California, Oregon, and the waters of the Pacific Ocean. He hunted the Cascade Mountains near his home in Oregon, and was known there to many around the lakes in Southern Oregon. His career was mostly in freight management, and he retired early because of arthritis.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marge; his only sister, Patricia; four children; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

No funeral arrangements are scheduled per his wishes.
