Churches plan a day of volunteering this Saturday.

The I Heart Rogue Valley event is expected to draw more than 1,500 volunteers, who will be in charge of service projects such as painting, cleaning, beautification projects, food drives and more.

The day will conclude at 7 p.m. at the Lithia Motors Amphitheater in Central Point with a free concert performed by Bend rock band Elliot and inspirational speaker Nick Vujicic. Doors for the concert open at 6:30 p.m. Attendees should bring a non-perishable food items.
