Grace E. LaFever passed away August 17, 2012, at Pioneer Village in Jacksonville, Ore., where she lived the past two years. The residents and caregivers at Pioneer Village made her last years very nice. They loved her and she loved them. She now lives in a wonderful new world with Jesus. Her life began in Lebam, Wash., in 1914.

Grace moved from Kelso, Wash., to Medford, Ore., with her husband and family in 1955. She always loved living in this area.

She was married to Clyde LaFever in 1934, and would have celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary, had he survived. He died in 2000. She then married Ira Ponder and was married for 11 years before he died. She has remarked many times how wonderful her life had been and how she felt so loved and blessed.

She loved oil painting, belonged to the Southern Oregon Artist Club, and showed her work from time to time.

Grace is survived by one daughter, Margie Cranston; and six grandchildren, Linae Simpson, Kim Wilson, Brad Hart, Julie Young, Eric Cranston, and Angela Jensen. One daughter, LaVonne Heilwein; and one sister, Irene Wicker, preceded her in death. She will be missed but not forgotten, and we will see her again.
