Ed "Stuffy" Deschamps Jr., from Rogue River, Ore., passed away August 18, 2012, in his home. He was born June 9, 1938, to Edouard Armand Deschamps Sr. and Mary Dougherty-Deschamps in Missoula, Mont.

Stuffy graduated from St. Francis High School in 1956, and then the University of Oregon in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After graduation he attended Marine Officer's Candidate School in Quantico, Va.

Upon his return to Oregon he worked as a restauranteur, then as a sales representative, and most recently was president and C.E.O. of his own manufacturing company, High Country Wreaths.

He is survived by his first love and best friend, JoAnn; two children, Matt Deschamps and Stephanie Beck; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Annette; and his daughter, Allison.

We knew him as a very generous person. He was an "easy touch" for somebody who was hungry or homeless. Stuffy was very proud of the fact that he was able to leave a legacy to honor his children and grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Poole-Larsen Funeral Home, 1100 Charnelton St., Eugene, Ore., with reception following.
