The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department has issued a six-hour notification to residents of Seiad Valley for immediate evacuation, the U.S. Forest Service reports.

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department has issued a six-hour notification to residents of Seiad Valley for immediate evacuation, the U.S. Forest Service reports.

Residents have one to two hours or less to evacuate. This notice includes closure of Seiad Creek Road and possibly additional roads depending on fire behavior.

An evacuation center will be established Siskyou Golden Fair Grounds in 1172 Fairlane Road, Yreka, Calif. The evacuation center will have the capability to house large and small animals, too.
