Divers pulled Andrew Kaufman, 61, from nearly 85 feet of water after studying numerous side-scan sonar images taken of the lake during the search for him.

Kaufman had last been seen driving a four-door silver 2011 Buick Enclave with a raft and paddles. Witnesses who had seen the vehicle said Kaufman may have taken the raft out on to the lake,the sheriff's department news release said.

The Klamath County Sheriff's Department, Search & Rescue, Marine Patrol, small boat rescue volunteers and sheriff's dive rescue joined the U.S. Forest Service during the search. More 50 people went looking for Kaufman, officials said.

Kaufman's raft is still missing. The investigation regarding the cause of his death is ongoing. Anyone at Four Mile Lake or near the area between Aug. 11 and 23 with any information on Kaufman should contact the Klamath County Sheriff's Department tip line at 541-883-5130, ext. 8603.
