Southern Oregon Mayflower descendants will hear a talk on "The Pulse of A Summer Day, Railroad and Society in 1904 Ashland" at a luncheon gathering at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Black Bear Diner, 1150 E. Barnett Road, Medford.

The speaker is Larry Mullaly, member of the National Railway Historical Society and frequent writer on western railroad topics. The talk contrasts events at the Ashland railroad station and the Chautauqua Assembly in Lithia Park on a day in 1904.
