The finals of the grape stomp at Jackson County Harvest Festival happen this afternoon.

Teams of two are challenged to produce as much juice as they can in five minutes from a tub of 30 pounds of grapes donated by Del Rio Vineyards. The final round is at 4 p.m. and organizers say a good crowd of loud spectators helps teams turn in championship performances.

They also promise that no one will have to drink stinky foot juice. There will be more than 60 microbrews on tap at the second annual Southern Oregon Brew Festival. For $5, you'll receive a commemorative glass and three drink tickets. Additional taste tickets cost $1 each or $5 for six.

Other harvest festival fun includes a chili cook-off with $1 tastings and a popular vote at 1:30 p.m., and a free pie-eating contest at 3 p.m.

Other family activities include pumpkin carving, pumpkin launching ($2 per pumpkin) and a paintball course in the parking lot. Arts, crafts, flowers and canned goods will be exhibited at Compton Arena.

There will be a full bar and live entertainment at the Rogue Saloon in Chaiffon Park. Musical performances include Jef Fretwell and The Detractors, Robbie DaCosta, and LEFT.

Admission to the festival is $7, $3 for children 6 to 11 and seniors 62 to 74, free for children 4 and younger and seniors 75 and older.
