A community event on combating bullying and gang activity is set for 6 p.m. Friday, March 8. at the White City Elementary School gymnasium, 2830 Maple Court, White City.

A community event on combating bullying and gang activity is set for 6 p.m. Friday, March 8. at the White City Elementary School gymnasium, 2830 Maple Court, White City.

The main presentation will be given by Phil Ortega, safe schools coordinator for the Eagle Point School District. Southern Oregon Head Start Spanish translators will attend.

After the main presentation, the audience will divide into groups to learn about dealing with bullying or gang-related activities in progress and self-defense techniques.

The event will close with a question-and-answer session hosted by local law enforcement.

Parents, guardians, and children 5 years and older can attend the free event. Free childcare will be available for children up to 5 years of age at the Mountain View Elementary School gym. Food and beverages will be available for sale.
