PORTLAND, Ore. — The retired former deputy director of the Oregon Office of Emergency Management, Dave Stuckey, has returned as director.

The Oregon Military Department announced the move Tuesday and said it was important to have someone clearly in charge rather than an interim director.

The Oregonian reports Stuckey replaces Martin Plotner. He who was placed on administrative leave last week for an investigation into complaints he retaliated and discriminated against some employees for their union activities. If he's cleared by the Employment Relations Board he'll return to a job in the Military Department, but not in the Office of Emergency Management.

The office coordinates with local, state and federal agencies during emergencies.
