Alverta Geiger, 92, of Medford, Ore., passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Medford. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Siskiyou Memorial Park June 1, 2013. A memorial service will be held June 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Neighborhood Church, 1819 Stewart Ave., Medford, Ore. Reverend V. Lee Gregory will be officiating.

Alverta was born January 23, 1921 in Casper, Wyo. to Arthur Raymond Darling and Eula Vaunda Darling. She lived in the Rogue Valley for more than 50 years.

Alverta married Bob R. Geiger October 7, 1945. She was a housewife and mother. She enjoyed rock collecting and polishing, camping, and beachcombing. She was a member of the Neighborhood Church and the Crater Rock Museum.

Alverta is survived by her sons, James Geiger and Thomas Geiger; daughter, Jeanne Peters; brother, Gordon Darling; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neighborhood Church: Women's Ministries or Moody Memorial Fund.
