Dogs for the Deaf General Manager Vaughn Maurice said the funds will help the agency select, care for and train dogs to assist disabled people. He noted that initial vaccinations, veterinarian evaluations and tests, plus spaying/neutering, can cost anywhere from $100 to $1,000 per animal.

This is the Lithia Honda's third year of supporting Dogs for the Deaf. Past recipients of the "Love Bucket" donation include Children's Advocacy Center, Food & Friends, CASA, the American Sewing Guild and Maslow Project.
