Eva Johnston, 73, reached her journey's end when she passed away at home with her daughters beside her on October 14, 2013.
Eva was born May 5, 1940, to a large, Irish family of eight children. She was the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Armstrong. In 1958 she met Cecil Johnston and they were married just two months later. Little did she know what a great adventure they would have for the next fifty plus years: living around the world with their little souveniers (five daughters), born in different countries. They lived in Ireland, England, Australia, NewZealand, and finally, America.
Eva was loved by everyone she met; her co-workers at Rogue Valley Hospital (as it was called then), lifetime friends, Shari and Clyde Olson, and especially her family. She loved her daughters and grandchildren immensely and favorite moments were everyone together. She was incredibly funny, mischievous and although a quiet, private person, had such compassion, often putting others needs before her own.
Our Father, Cecil, preceded her in death in 2012 and now they are off to another great adventure with our Lord. Until we meet again.
A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial, North Phoenix Road, Medford.
