A Phoenix, Ariz., semi truck driver was cited for careless driving and failure to drive within a lane after his truck hit a concrete guardrail on an Interstate 5 overpass near milepost 58 and flipped off the overpass, landing upside down on an embankment along Northeast Scoville Road, Oregon State Police reported.

Parmjit Singh, 28, was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center for a medical evaluation before being released and cited. Singh was driving on the overpass when the truck veered off and landed in the northbound slow lane on its top in an embankment next to Northeast Scoville Road.

The Oregon Department of Transportation website shows a partial closure of the northbound slow lane is still in effect as the truck's cargo — frozen strawberries — is removed. Traffic using the northbound on and off ramps at exit 58 is being detoured to the Merlin exit.
