SEATTLE — The Seattle Totems edged the Southern Oregon Spartans, 5-4, after an overtime shootout during Western States Hockey League action on Saturday.

Sergey Kuznetsov knocked in the game-winning goal for Seattle (5-7), which had to rally after winless Southern Oregon took a 4-2 lead in the second period.

Taylor McConnell had a goal and two assists to pace the Spartans (0-7), who outshot the Totems, 59-56.

Trevor Hillman, Arturs Buss and Carl Edstrom also scored for Southern Oregon.

Goalkeeper Jiri Ponikelsky stayed busy with 51 saves.
