The district said 44 percent of students attended school today, compared with 47 percent Thursday, and 49 percent Wednesday and Tuesday.

Today, 5,350 out of 12,113 students were in attendance, the district reported.

After the strike began, classes resumed Feb. 11 with substitute teachers and half-day schedules. Since then attendance has ranged from a high of 68 percent on the first day to a low of 44 percent today and Feb 14.

The average daily attendance rate for February 2013 was 88 percent, the district said.
