Julie Dorrell, born as June Ellen Sutoris, 89, of Medford, Ore. passed away March 16, 2014 at Heavenly Angel Adult Foster Home in Medford. Julie was born June 9, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo. As a wife and mother she helped raise nine children in Kansas City. Her home was a center of intellectual and spiritual activity, as well as meetings for the League of Women Voters, the NAACP, and yogis.

She marched with Mothers Against the Vietnam War in Washington, DC in 1968. In 1972 she was ordained as a minister for the Unity Church, serving as interim minister for several churches between 1973 and 1984. Always a wanderer, she lived in several places, including Eureka Springs, Ark.; Lawrence, Kans.; Santa Fe, N.M.; and Medford, Ore.

Always a seeker, her life was devoted to spiritual enlightenmentboth for herself and others. She was independent, wise, loving, kind, and beautifully non-conformist. She loved landscaping, moving rocks, building walls, growing flowers, and writing both books and letters.

Survivors include her children Dawn, Sydney, Leslie, Robin, Paul, and Dan; grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Kelly, Dan-ielle, Denny, Joshua, Genevieve, and Oliver; great-grandchildren, Mindy, Candace, Terez, Marin, Sierra, Jaeden, Kaylee, Isabel, Dustin, Brittany, Corina, and Zonya. She was preceded in death by her sons, John, Stephen, and Nicky.
