  • The South Medford boys track team beat Grants Pass, 82-63, and the Caver girls topped the Panthers, 81-53, during the District 1 dual at South Medford High on Wednesday.
    South's Stuart Tomlinson captured first place in the 110-meter hurdles (2 minutes, 2.60 seconds) and triple jump (28 feet, 11/2 inches) and teammate Kaizer Gillispie won the 400 (52.11) and high jump (6-2) and ran legs on the victorious 4x100 and 4x400 relay squads.
    Grants Pass' Drake Brennan triumphed in the shot put and discus.
    On the girls side, South Medford's Lela Stemple took the 800, Courtney Naylor the 3,000, Sara Miles the shot put and Lauren Orndoff the triple jump.

    EAGLE POINT, CRATER SPLIT — At Eagle Point, the Eagle Point boys topped Crater, 78-65, and the Comet girls cruised, 101-29, in the nonleague dual.
    Eagle Point's Tyler Wanamaker won the 300-meter hurdles (44.5 seconds) and pole vault (13 feet) and teammate Kevin VanDyke was fastest in the 1,500 (4:20.3) and 3,000 (9:39.3).
    Crater's Tanner Berklund was first in the 200 (23.5) and 400 (53.4) and Ryan Davis was victorious in the shot put (47-4) and discus (138-8).
    On the girls side, Crater's Lexy McWillie won the 100 hurdles (17.2) and long jump (14-11) and Paige Berriochoa placed first in the 300 hurdles (49.8) and javelin (97-8).

    ROSEBURG SWEEPS — At Ashland, Roseburg prevailed in both boys and girls in a nonleague dual at Ashland High School, trouncing Ashland 104-40 in boys and 102-43 in girls.
    Ashland sophomore Ray Impara won the 1,500, finishing in 4 minutes, 31.25 seconds, while the Grizz boys also prevailed in the 4x100 relay. Ashland's Dominic Meads won the discus with a 135 foot, 8-inch throw.
    In girls action, Laurel Watson (400), Christine Impara (800) and Victoria Lawton-Dietz (pole vault) picked up victories for the Grizzlies.

    THREE-TEAM SKYLINE — At Klamath Falls, North Valley captured the boys title and took second on the girls side in the three-team Skyline Conference meet at Klamath Union High.
    North Valley's Zeb Amos won the 800 meters and 3,000, Jordan Hannah was first in the 200 and long jump and Seth Wilson was victorious in the 110 hurdles and triple jump.
    On the girls side, North Valley's Kerissa D'Arpino was fastest in the 100 and 400, Megan Hoback won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles and Cheyenne Crowl placed first in the discus and javelin.

    FOOTHILL 2-12, CRATER 0-3 — At Palo Cedro, Calif., Crater's Courtney Martin went 3-for-4 in Game 2 and Sydney Beck tossed a five-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk in the opener of the nonleague doubleheader.
    Foothill's Jessica Seely pitched a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and one walk and hit the go-ahead home run in Game 1. Martin and Alex Craft had the Comets' hits.
    Seely added a two-run homer in the second game against Crater (3-14).

    The Mustangs (1-15) had five hits in the pivotal inning, including an RBI double by Mara Oachs and an RBI single by Elena Bragg.
    The Grizzlies (3-13) scored five runs in the second highlighted by a bases-clearing double by Teresa Lehman.
