  • BEND — River Davis was a solid fill-in at No. 1 singles, winning her girls tennis match easily in place of usual No. 1 Ashley Knecht to lead Ashland to a 5-3 victory over Ridgeview at the Bend Tournament on Saturday.
    Davis defeated Caitlin Carr, 6-1, 6-1, helping Ashland take three of four singles matches despite the absence of the undefeated Knecht and No. 3 singles player Anne Kim, both of whom were taking their SAT tests.
    Ashland's No. 1 doubles team of Hanna Greenberg and Vika O'Brien remained undefeated with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Rhian Sage and Makenna Jordison.
