  • The Education Division of the Software & Information Industry Association presented its Ed Tech Impact Award to Sue Collins at the Education Industry Summit last month in San Francisco.
    Collins is the principal of Medford management consulting firm CollinsConsults, launched 11 years ago.
    She was honored for her accomplishments and contributions to the education technology industry.
    Collins began her career 35 years ago as a teacher, and she has held positions in both the public and private sector sides of the education technology industry.
    She was education technology director for the state of Washington before being appointed to the Web-based Education Commission in the 1990s, where she testified on SIIA's behalf before Congress.
    Collins has held senior-level positions at Apple Computer, Compaq Computer, Jostens Learning, bigchalk.com, and Apex Learning.
    In her business, she provides strategic solutions to education technology businesses.
    As a consultant in the educational tech space, she continues to provide expert and strategic advice to a variety of companies. Over the years, she has served on various education technology industry boards.
    Collins was a driving force behind the development of the Vision K20 initiative, from the goals, to the brochure, to the website and to the survey instrument.

    Chris Chamberlain, a principal broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial NW in Medford, has been named No. 1 Sales Professional in Oregon for Coldwell Banker Commercial.
    The Eagle Point native also was among the top 50 producers, out of more than 4,100, in North America by the real estate company.
    Chamberlain holds a bachelor's degree in business management and marketing from Northwest Christian University in Eugene.
    He became a Certified Commercial Investment Member in 2010 and was Coldwell Banker's top professional that year, as well.
    He is involved in commercial projects in Oregon, Texas, California and Colorado.

    Deanna Eames has joined Ledger David Cellars as events and sales director.
    Eames has nearly two decades of sales and marketing experience, most recently as a regional sales and brand manager at Willamette Valley Vineyards, where she handled sales and marketing strategies for the nearly 100,000-case winery.
    Before launching a career in the regional wine industry, Eames worked as a sports marketer for well-known national brands, including sports performance equipment manufacturer Oakley.

    Dave Ross has joined Adroit Construction as a construction project manager. Ross has been involved in construction estimating and business management for 25 years as a project engineer, project manager, estimator, chief estimator and general manager.
    Most recently, he was chief estimator with Knife River Materials, where he worked for 18 years.
    Before that, he was a project engineer for Granite Construction Co. for five years.
    He earned a bachelor's degree in construction management from Texas A&M University. Ross is a former Association of General Contractors Columbia Chapter board member and was co-chairman of the Rogue Valley chapter.
