  • A youth football safety clinic planned for Saturday in Medford has been canceled. The clinic was to be part of the Heads Up Football program.
    The first of several weekly meetings for the Rogue Valley Football Officials Association will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the courtyard at Scenic Middle School.
    No experience is required for those interested in becoming football officials for the upcoming season, and the group will continue to meet thereafter at the same time on Mondays at Scenic. The RVFOA is specifically looking for new members to join the current group of officials.

    Champion Raceway will host its monthly booster meeting on Tuesday at the Rogue Regency. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the meeting at 7.
    Track operators Kirk and Michelle Hobson will address concerns and listen to suggestions for the facility.
    No reason was given for the cancellation.
    The Superior Stingray Swimming team will have a free week of tryouts Sept. 2-5 for all levels of swimmers at Superior Athletic Club, 727 Cardley Ave.
    Tryout times for 10-under are 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. For 11- to 14-yer-olds, it's 4:15 to 5:15. For 15-over, it's 5:15 to 6:45.
