A structure fire burned a apartment building at 204 N. Ivy St. to the ground overnight, Medford police reported this morning.
The department's Facebook post said the apartment complex had a long history of calls for service and code violations. On Friday, the "run-down property" was deemed uninhabitable due to several safety violations, and police stood by as numerous people vacated the building.
"Then it suspiciously burned to the ground last night," police reported.
Medford Fire-Rescue responded to the blaze at 2:03 a.m.
"We will see what the fire investigators say, but we are going to take a close look at this one," police said.
