(Dockery) Tompkins

Emma Tompkins of Talent, Ore. passed away in her home Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born January 1, 1921 in Hazel Valley, Ark. She attended school through ninth grade at Sunset, Ark. and high school at University High in Fayetteville, Ark.

On April 8, 1942, Emma married John Tompkins in Clarkdale, Ariz. There were born four children of this marriage. Emma is survived by her three sons, James Allen Tompkins of Ashland, Ore., Ronlad Lee Tompkins of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Donald Ray Tompkins of Monteray, Calif.; and her daughter, Linda Sue (Tompkins) Raduski of Medford, Ore. Emma's husband, John, passed away April 23, 1995.

Emma worked for Warner Bulb Company, Jacksonville, Ore., Byers Egg Ranch, Talent, Ore., and Villa Royal, Medford, Ore. After retiring she worked seasonally for Associated Fruit Company, Phoenix, Ore.

Emma loved to walk and logged many miles on the bike paths. She liked to work crossword puzzles and read. She enjoyed being with family and friends and working in her yard. Emma was a member of the West Main Church of Christ in Medford, Ore.

Emma came from a family of eight siblings: five boys and three girls. Four brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She had seven grandchildren: Todd and Gina Raduski, Tami McGonagle, Dana Giles, Stacey Youngblood, and Eric and Joe Tompkins. Emma was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd., Medford, Ore.
