  • Mrs. Coggins, 95, of Medford passed away August 12, 2014. She was born April 30, 1919, the eldest of three children born to the late Guy and Bertha (Ditsworth) Cobleigh. She was a lifetime resident of the Rogue Valley and a descedant of Oregon pioneers. Her paternal grandfather homesteaded in the Shady Cove and Lost Creek Dam areas. Maxine graduated from Phoenix High School in 1936 and attended Medford Business College. On October 25, 1947 she married Ralph Coggins who preceded her in death in 2010. She was employed by Harry & David in 1937 when they were beginning their gift business. In 1938 she began work for the California Oregon Power Co. (now Pacific Power) where she held various accounting and secretarial positions until retirement in 1983. Maxine and her husband traveled extensively, making five overseas trips which included Beijing, China and Moscow, Russia. She enjoyed dancing, cards, and gardening. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Medford.
    Survivors include sisters-in-law, Carol Cobleigh, Darlene Madden, and Georgia Coggins, plus numerous dear nieces and nephews.
    Memorial services for Iva Maxine Coggins will be held at 2:00 p.m. September 6, 2014 at Fountain Plaza, 1441 Morrow Road, Medford, Ore.
