KLAMATH FALLS — Lilli Knudsen scored twice and MaryBeth Barnum was involved in all three St. Mary’s goals as the Crusaders opened the girls soccer season with a 3-0 nonleague win over Mazama Tuesday.

Knudsen scored in the 24th and 46th minutes, getting assists from Emily Elmore and Barnum, respectively. Elmore scored the Crusaders’ first goal in the 22nd, taking a pass from Knudsen.

Barnum set the first two scores in motion, the first on a throw-in, the second on a corner kick.

Goalies Viv Juncal and Emily Riehlman shared the shutout.

NORTH VALLEY 2, CRATER 0: At Merlin, Isabella Schrader opened scoring in the 56th minute off a cross by Morgan Quinones and Rochelle Banta tallied in the 62nd minute on a direct kick to lead North Valley to the season-opening victory.

Cassandra Wessels earned the shutout in goal for the Knights (1-0).

HIDDEN VALLEY 0, BROOKINGS-HARBOR 0: At Murphy, the two teams played to a deadlock in the season opener.
