Southern Oregon University has named Janet Fratella as vice president of development and executive director of the SOU Foundation.
Fratella, who most recently served as chief of staff for the Oregon Health & Science University Foundation, has more than two decades of work in the field of university advancement, according to a university press release. She has held numerous development-related positions throughout her career, including vice president of alumni and donor relations for the OHSU Foundation as well as director of donor relations and director of outreach projects for the University of Oregon.
“This is a great opportunity. Southern Oregon University has a long tradition of support from residents in the Rogue Valley, and it is positioned to achieve equal support from SOU alumni throughout the country,” Fratella said in the release. “There are many positive things taking place on the SOU campus, and I look forward to connecting with all our constituents to share and to learn about their experiences with our campus.”
Fratella holds master's degrees in public administration, public policy and management and in science, educational policy and management from the University of Oregon as well as an undergrad degree in communication with a minor in English from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a member of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
