Hannah Pearcey was crowned Miss Rogue Valley and Haley Hanover was named Miss Rogue Valley Outstanding Teen in a ceremony Saturday night at North Medford High School.

Pearcey, 20, is a student at Southern Oregon University, where she is pursuing a double major in forensic chemistry and music education. She says she hopes to be able to put both her majors to use in the future. Pearcey graduated from Del Norte High School in Crescent City, Calif.

Hanover, 16, a sophomore at Crater High School, says she wants to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. Hanover plays on the Crater softball team.

The pageant is part of the annual Miss Rogue Valley Scholarship Program, which awards nearly $10,000 in scholarships to local students every year.
