March 6, 1939 - February 3, 2017

Marshall Duane Easton, 77, passed away peacefully February 3, 2017 at his home in Medford, Oregon. During a nine-year battle with cancer, Duane drew strength from his faith and his family and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to sustain those he loved.

Duane was born March 6, 1939 to Ivan and Agnes Easton in Vancouver, Washington and grew up there, graduating from Hudson Bay High School in 1957. After earning a degree in electronics at Clark College in 1959 he was recruited by the Federal Aviation Administration for a job as an electronics technician. He worked for the FAA for more than 33 years in Crescent City, California; Fairbanks, Alaska; and Medford, Ore.

In 1973 Duane married Linda Uchytil in Medford, Ore. and the two proved to be a perfect match, raising two children, a daughter, Becky and a son, Ed.

Duane’s faith in Jesus Christ was the most important facet of his life and he loved to read and study the Bible. He was an active member of Community Bible Church. In addition to volunteering at church, Duane loved gardening, shooting, camping, and “puttering” on projects large and small.

Duane is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda; their daughter, Becky Burkhart; their son, Ed and his wife, Jennifer; and four grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Katie (19), Tyler (18), Abigail (15), and Hannah Easton (13). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Community Bible Church at 500 North 10th Street, Central Point, Ore. Pastor Pete Slusher will officiate.
