Cascade Christian and Crater each earned trophies at the state cheerleading championships at Memorial Coliseum in Portland Saturday.
Cascade Christian placed second in Class 3A/2A/1A, and Crater was third in Class 5A.
The Challengers, who had gone 4-0 in regional competitions, scored 154.70 points, finishing behind Delphian (170.30) and ahead of third-place Central Linn (150.00). Cascade Christian scored 55.80 points in building skills, 52.90 in tumbling/jumps and 46.00 in overall routine. It was not docked any penalty points.
Crater had a score of 172.60, coming in behind South Albany (204.40) and The Dalles (183.80). The Comets scored 61.50 points in building skills, 62.10 in tumbling/jumps and 49.00 in overall routine. They did not have penalty points.
North Medford came in sixth in the coed large division with 156.80 points.
