June 17, 1924 - February 8, 2017

Mary "Aileen" Obendrauf joyfully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 8, 2017 after a short illness. She was able to spend time with her family where she laughed and smiled with them in the month before her passing. She was born June 17, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Rex and Lois Hamilton. Aileen was one of four sisters and a brother. Her sister, Pearl survives.

Aileen attended Fremont High School where she met Ed Obendrauf, the man she would spend the rest of her life with. They were married in 1943 and eventually settled in Manhattan Beach, Calif. where they raised two children and enjoyed the coast with many fun outings, sailing, swimming, surfing, hiking, and camping. She enjoyed her garden, especially her roses and named many of them after her grandchildren.

Aileen deeply loved her husband, Ed; her children, Ed and Cass; and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was active in her church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and leading many children to Jesus in the Good News Club she held in her home. She loved people and had many friends who loved her. She was always ready with a hug and a kind word. The greatest joy in her life was her five grandchildren, Eric Obendrauf, Brad Robertson, Jason Robertson, Nathan Josalle, and Amanda McReynolds; two step-grandchildren, Steve May and Jeff May; their wives and husband; her 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She loved and prayed for each one. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed after 71 years of marriage.

A celebration of life officiated by Lee Gregory will be held at 3:00 p.m. February 19, 2017 at Neighborhood Church in Medford, Ore. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. February 20, 2017 at Perl Funeral Home.
