LA MIRADA, Calif. — Southern Oregon's lineup churned out 31 hits and its pitching staff allowed just four earned runs as the Raiders won three times Wednesday at the NAIA So. Cal Classic — 10-4 against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), 8-7 against Hope International (Calif.) and 7-1 against Vanguard (Calif.).

At 8-1 overall, the Raiders have matched the best start through nine games in team history.

Kelsey Randall stroked four hits, drew three walks, scored seven runs and drove in two more on the day; Taylor Martinez went 6-for-12 with a pair of doubles; and Kayleen Smith and Rebecca Velasquez totaled five RBIs apiece. Trailing 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth against HIU, Velasquez's two-RBI single plated the tying and go-ahead runs.

Karlee Coughlin picked up the first win in a complete-game effort, working around three Raider errors with eight strikeouts to give up one earned run. Gabby Sandoval earned the next two decisions to improve to 6-0. She allowed one earned run in 10 total innings but had her streak of consecutive innings without an earned run stopped at 27 1/3.

SOU plays three more today at the Classic, starting with a 2 p.m. date with host Biola.
