Illinois River salmon walks

Sunday, Oct. 30: KS Wild will lead an easy walk from 1 to 3:30 p.m. along the Illinois River to view returning salmon. BioBlitz: Fungi!

Saturday, Nov. 12: Fungi experts and trained volunteers from the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument are looking for volunteers to join survey teams to observe and catalog mushroom species in the monument. Their mission will be to discover the immense diversity of fungi living there. Lunches and snacks will be provided, and volunteers will receive a free T-shirt. Volunteers will meet at Pinehurst School on Highway 66 at 9 a.m. to be assigned to a group and to meet their group leader. Lichens of the Pacific Northwest and Northern California

Thursday, Nov. 17: Guest speaker Steve Sheehy will share his photos and knowledge of lichens. Sheehy has been conducting an inventory of lichens at Lava Beds National Monument since 2012.
