AGE: Brinkley is a 1- to 2-year-old pit bull mix with lots of energy. He loves exploring the outdoors, going on hikes, gnawing on bones and snuggling with his people.

PERSONALITY: Because he is food motivated and takes treats nicely, he is easy to train. He has an initial fear of men and young kids, but adjusts with patience. He is very affectionate and likes to give kisses.

HIGHLIGHTS: Brinkley is housebroken and tends to get along better with female dogs. He will do well in a quieter home, with people who will help build his confidence over time. He is currently in a foster home, so call the shelter at 541-774-6654 to make an appointment to meet him.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., between Talent and Phoenix, open 7 days a week.

COST: Brinkley’s adoption fee is $50, and includes a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office, as well as a free one-hour in-home training session. Brinkley is neutered.
