AGE: Ripley is a 10-year-old Australian shepherd mix who is house-trained, has lived with children and enjoys playing with other dogs.

PERSONALITY: At first, Ripley is a little shy with new people, but he becomes outgoing and friendly once he knows you’re there to love him.

HIGHLIGHTS: Ripley takes treats gently and knows basic commands. He was surrendered because of “resource guarding” his food against other animals in the house, so he needs to be fed separately.

AVAILABLE: At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, 5595 S. Pacific Hwy., between Talent and Phoenix, open 7 days a week.

COST: Ripley’s adoption fee is $105, and includes a free one-hour, in-home training and a free wellness visit at a local veterinarian office is included. Ripley is neutered.
