LINCOLN CITY (AP) — Oregon State Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle near Lincoln City.
Lt. Cari Boyd says 43-year-old Thomas Wilson of Otis died at scene Tuesday night on U.S. Highway 101.
He had been hit by a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 71-year-old Herbert Ware of Otis.
The Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine if any criminal charges are warranted. (Corrected)
Correction: An earlier news report referred to an impaired-driving investigation, but Oregon State Police have issued an updated release stating that Ware was not arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
