Two LaPine residents are dead following an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday night at a Medford motel.

At just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, John Lansiaho, 65 shot and killed his wife, 68-year-old Marie Lansiaho, then killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot wound using the same firearm while staying at the Budget Inn Motel in the 300 block of South Central Avenue. 

The case remains under investigation, and police are asking witnesses who may have had contact with the couple to contact Medford police Detective Brandon Amaya at 541-774-2230.
