Medford's annual Winter Lights Festival will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at downtown's Pear Blossom Park, which is along Fourth and Bartlett streets.
The event kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with a candy-cane hunt for children on the lawn in front of the Pear Blossom Park stage.
Performances are planned by the Medford Parks and Recreation Discovery School, a Medford middle-school choir, and the Fusion Force Dancers. Other activities include Medford fire engine and police car displays and a jump house (weather permitting). The Side Street Grill will serve food, and Starbucks will serve beverages.
A coloring contest for children ages 4-12 will be held at Lithia's headquarters building from 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. The winner receives a bicycle.
Santa will arrive at 5:40 p.m., accompanied by the South Medford High School marching band. He will be available for photos in Sky Oak Financial, across the street from the park.
The lighting of the city's Christmas tree display — a Norway spruce flanked by two Nordmann firs and an Engelmann spruce — will be held at 5:55 p.m.
