Marshall Doak is the new Southern Oregon University Small Business Development Center director. Doak succeeds recently retired Jack Vitacco. Doak was executive director of the Southeast Washington Economic Development Association, and he previously worked in a similar role in Sunnyside, as well as at SBDC offices in Tillamook and Salem. Doak earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and a Master of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University.

Jamie Stone has joined KDP Certified Public Accountants in Medford. Stone earned her bachelor's from Southern Oregon University in business administration. She was named 2016 Accounting Student of the Year at SOU. Previously she was operations manager at Cheerful Pet in Ashland, an accounting intern for Lithia Motors, and assistant manager at Allann Bros. Coffee Roasters in Ashland.

American Family Insurance agent Lyle McCaw earned American Star Excellence in Customer Experience recognition for the 10th year. The Medford insurance agent has been with the company since 1999.

Bank of the Cascades has promoted Carrie Lockwood and Danielle Conroy from branch managers to vice president. Lockwood oversees operations at the bank's Biddle Road office. She held several roles during 14 years with Bank of America before Bank of the Cascades acquired the branch in 2016. Conroy joined Bank of the Cascades in 2013 as a senior relationship manager and has served as branch manager at the bank's north Grants Pass branch since January 2016.

Foris Vineyards has appointed Stephanie Pao as its winemaker. Pao brings extensive experience in enology, which began with a winemaking internship at Robert Mondavi Winery in 2005. She was previously an enologist at Double Canyon Vineyards, a custom crush Washington winery. She succeeds Bryan Wilson. Prior to joining Double Canyon, Pao spent three years with Justin Vineyards and Winery in Paso Robles. Her experience with pinot noir includes stints with Bethel Heights and Lemelson in Oregon as well as a season overseas with Dry River Vineyards in Martinborough, New Zealand. Pao earned a bachelor's degree in molecular biology from the University of California-San Diego in 1997, prior to studying viticulture and enology at the University of California-Davis.

Umpqua Bank has recognized Tammy Morgan as a 2016 Leaders Club loan officer. The award goes to the top-producing loan officers in the Home Lending division.
