Southern Oregon Mayflower descendants will learn about the "Preacher Train” during a luncheon gathering at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the China Hut restaurant, 450 S. Riverside Ave., Medford.

Speaker is Robert Casebeer, Southern Oregon University professor emeritus and former president of the Talent Historical Society.

In his research, Casebeer found that a number of Talent area families are descendants of people who came to Oregon from the Midwest on an 1853 wagon train — known as the "Preacher Train" because so many preachers were on it.

The meeting is open to anyone. For details, call Cleve Twitchell at 541-973-8750.
