"Food production in an Era of Climate Change" is the topic of the next meeting of Southern Oregon Climate Action Now, set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Medford library.
A panel of local experts will explore how food production and produce availability in stores is likely to be influenced by threats posed to the environment from global warming. Josh Cohen from Barking Moon Farm in the Applegate Valley will discuss how food management techniques in the organic farm promote resilience to climate variability. Anne Carter, of the Medford Food Co-op, will talk about how retailers are addressing the vagaries of local food availability in an era of climate change.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Alan Journet at email@example.com or 541-301-4107.
