A workshop on planning and preparing for long-term care will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the Smullin Health Center, 2825 E. Barnett Road, Medford.
Attendees will learn about planning ahead to protect retirement savings, according to a news release, which added that seven in 10 people over the age of 65 eventually need custodial care that is not covered by Medicaid or other health plans.
Attendees will learn about home health service costs compared to assisted living and nursing homes, how to cover the costs, and benefits of early planning. Veterans benefits for long-term care will also be covered.
Linda Clarkson and Cheryl Baumgarten of Futurity First Insurance Group will present.
