Felony arrests

Drugs —Cruz Anthony Rangel, 26, no known address. Medford police arrested Rangel Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of third-degree theft and contempt, and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing meth and second-degree theft. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Thursday on $30,000 bail.

Impaired Driving — David Leon Zahner, 55, of the 1900 block of Prune Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Zahner Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with driving under the influence of intoxicants, and on warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of felony driving under the influence of intoxicants, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, hit-and-run, reckless driving and driving while suspended. He remained lodged in jail Thursday on $10,000 bail.

Elude — Trent Leo Walkup, 28, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Walkup Thursday on a felony count of attempting to elude police in a vehicle, misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and attempting to elude police on foot, and for violating his parole on a previous first-degree burglary conviction. He was lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Joshua Steven Belanger, 36, of the 21800 block of Highway 62, Shady Cove. Medford police arrested Belanger Thursday on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and for violating his parole on a previous conviction for assaulting a police officer. He was lodged in jail Thursday without bail.

Drugs — Adrienne Elaine Strange, 28, of the 600 block of Kings Court, Central Point. On Thursday, Strange made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of possessing heroin. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Assaulting Police — Jamie Rodelo Salazar, 30, of the 3500 block of Cherry Lane, Medford. On Thursday, Salazar made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of assaulting a police officer and a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree assault. He was booked in the jail and released Thursday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Laura Lee Treiber, 26, of the 300 block of Candis Drive, Eagle Point. On Thursday, Treiber made her initial court appearance on a felony charge of possessing heroin and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a minor. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Brandy Emiline Coplin, 39, of the 2500 block of North Pacific Highway, Medford. On Thursday, Coplin made her initial court appearance on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. She was booked in the jail and released Thursday on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Manuel Gonzalez Castro, 35, no known address. Medford police arrested Castro Thursday on felony charges of manufacturing, distributing and possessing methamphetamine and two counts of felon in possession of a weapon. He was lodged in jail Thursday on more than $1 million bail.

Crime reports

Theft — 2300 block of Roberts Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a solitaire diamond ring stolen from a vehicle at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday. The loss was valued at $3,000.

Theft — 4800 block of Helo Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen Kubota compact excavator at 9:54 a.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $44,500.

Burglary — 1800 block of Roxy Ann Place, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 11:20 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included assorted jewelry and a gift card for Callahan's Lodge & Restaurant. The loss and damage to a double-pane window and safe was valued at $8,230.
