Compelling Prostitution — Lafayette Toney, 35, of Stockton, California. Medford police arrested Toney Wednesday on an additional felony count of compelling prostitution and five additional felony counts of tampering with a witness. Medford police originally arrested Toney May 20 on a felony charge of promoting prostitution and misdemeanor charges of attempting to tamper with evidence and resisting arrest. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday on $387,500 bail.
Criminal Mischief — Manuel Hector Sanchez, 25, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Sanchez Tuesday on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor charge of second-degree disorderly conduct and on a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous fourth-degree assault charge. He remained lodged in jail Wednesday on $20,000 bail.
Drugs — Staci Louise Kennedy, 42, of the 100 block of Seroba Circle, Medford. National Park rangers arrested Kennedy Tuesday on a felony warrant charging her with possessing methamphetamine. She was booked in the jail Tuesday and released Wednesday on her own recognizance.
Drugs — Christian Lee Nelson, 23, of the 2200 block of Highway 227, Trail. Medford police arrested Nelson Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of menacing and for violating his parole on a previous third-degree rape conviction. He was lodged in jail Wednesday without bail.
Drugs — Rebecca Keanna West, 25, no known address. Oregon State Police troopers arrested West Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. She was lodged in jail Wednesday on $7,500 bail.
Burglary — 900 block of South Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 5:11 a.m. Tuesday. A window valued at $1,000 was reported broken and a glass bong valued at $250 was reported stolen.
Theft — 1700 block of Louise Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a handgun with in-waistband Galco holster and a pair of aviator-style sunglasses. The loss and damage to the vehicle window was valued at $1,300.
Theft — 800 block of South Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a motor vehicle at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday. Items reported stolen included a black Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone, a large blue and white leather purse, tortoiseshell sunglasses and black summer boots. The loss was valued at $1,155.
