Construction crews prepare 18.28 acres at the southwest corner of Hamrick and Table Rock roads where a new Costco will rise in the next few months. The 161,992-square-foot warehouse and fuel station, expected to cost $13.3 million, is targeted for a fall opening. The new building will be 20 percent larger than the existing location along Highway 62, and the fueling station will be double the size of the present one. Costco, which quickly outgrew its north Medford location built in 1991, unsuccessfully pursued property near the Northgate Marketplace off Highway 238 before turning its attention to Central Point for expansion.
