Felony arrests

Forgery — Joseph Duke Layman, 51, of the 6300 block of Ventura Lane, Central Point. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Layman Tuesday on felony warrants charging him with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and first-degree theft, misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of mail theft, identity theft, possessing methamphetamine, attempted first-degree theft, second- and third-degree theft and driving while suspended, and on out-of-county warrants for failing to appear in court on previous driving while suspended and second-degree theft charges. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday without bail.

Supplying Contraband — Erica Michelle Godwin, 36, no known address. Oregon State Police troopers arrested Godwin Tuesday on felony charges of supplying contraband, possessing methamphetamine and felon in possession of a firearm, and on misdemeanor charges of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed firearm. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on $35,000 bail.

Drugs — Amanda Leigh Atkinson, 37, no known address. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies arrested Atkinson Tuesday on felony warrant charging her with possessing heroin, and on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing heroin and methamphetamine, identity theft, unlawful use of a weapon, fraudulent use of a credit card, second- and third-degree theft. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on $83,000 bail.

Crime reports

Vehicle Theft — 900 block of Chevy Way, Medford. Medford police took a report of a vehicle theft and vandalism at 10:09 a.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included a Digga brand anchor-drive hole digger, square shaft extensions and steel excavator ramps, and the vehicle's dash and a chain-link gate were reported damaged. The loss and damage was valued at $21,501.

Theft — 1600 block of Pauline Place, Medford. Medford police took a report of a wedding ring with white gold and a solitaire diamond at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday. The loss was valued at $2,500.
