Days after a 22-year-old man was found dead in his east Medford garage of a gunshot wound, police have not yet ruled out foul play.

Medford police on Tuesday evening found Tylor McInroy, 22, dead of a single gunshot wound in his garage in the 2000 block of Lawnridge St., according to Lt. Justin Ivens, who didn't call the case a homicide, but rather a "death investigation."

Medford police were dispatched to the home at 9:39 p.m. after a neighbor called in an "unknown disturbance," according to Ivens.

Police are still investigating the nature of the disturbance, Ivens said. Detectives took a statement from a male involved and released him. His name was not released because he's not a suspect in the case.

"Right now, no one's in custody," Ivens said. "We're still working through it."

Because the case is still under investigation, Ivens didn't release where on the body McInroy was shot, though Ivens said the gunshot has the potential to point to either suicide or homicide.

"It could be self-inflicted," Ivens said. “We are just trying to determine what occurred before this person’s death.”
