Central Point resident Douglas Edwin Vail, 65, has been reported missing in the Union Creek area since Saturday night.

Jackson County sheriff's Search and Rescue teams are combing the area for Vail after a deputy found Vail's grey 2012 Toyota Camry parked next to Beckie's Cafe Sunday morning. Vail left home Saturday morning to go fishing and was reported missing when he didn't return home as scheduled that night, according to a sheriff's Facebook post.

SAR teams searched the area Sunday and are back out there today, the post said.

Anyone who's seen Vail since Saturday morning is asked to call Sgt. Shawn Richards at 541-776-7206 and refer to case 17-19245. Vail is described as 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, with blue eyes and short gray hair. He was last seen wearing a brimmed hat, an unknown color shirt, and jeans or cargo shorts.
