Felony arrests

Drugs — Joshua Lee Sandusky, 39, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Sandusky Monday on felony charges of possessing heroin and possessing methamphetamine, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest and for violating his parole on a previous conviction for failing to register his address as a sex offender. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday without bail.

Attempted Burglary — Joseph Barnabas Kimmel, 33, no known address. Medford police arrested Kimmel Monday on a felony charge of attempted first-degree burglary. He was booked in the jail Monday and released Tuesday because of overcrowding.

Vehicle Theft — Joseph James Murdock, 38, of the 4000 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Murdock Tuesday on felony charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possessing a stolen vehicle, on misdemeanor warrants warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of first-degree theft, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, providing false information to police, second-degree theft, driving while suspended and discarding refuse within 1,000 feet of state waters, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a previous methamphetamine-distribution conviction. He was lodged in jail Tuesday without bail.

Drugs — Ariel Justine Vargas, 26, of the 1700 block of Alexis Way, Medford. On Tuesday, Vargas made her initial appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on previous charges of possessing heroin and methamphetamine, and on a misdemeanor charge of failing to appear in court on a previous second-degree theft charge. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Michael Shane Byrns, 41, of the 1100 block of Southwest Bridge Street, Grants Pass. On Tuesday, Byrns made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of second-degree disorderly conduct. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Theft — James Trygve Burud, 34, of the 800 block of Gold Court, Grants Pass. On Tuesday, Burud made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of first-degree theft, and on misdemeanor charges of unlawfully entering a motor vehicle and third-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Vehicle Theft — Brandy Nichole Sanchez, 34, no known address. Medford police arrested Sanchez Tuesday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on $7,500 bail.

Drugs — George Victor Rozsasi, 41, no known address. On Tuesday, Rozsasi made his initial court appearance on a felony count of possessing methamphetamine, and on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless endangering. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Theft — Jed Randall Burns, 33, of the 300 block of Leafwood Drive, Eagle Point. On Tuesday, Burns made his initial court appearance on felony charges of first-degree theft and two misdemeanor charges of third-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Crime reports

Theft — 300 block of Laurel Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft of one stolen Meissan colonial figurine and one vandalized Meissan figurine at 12:21 p.m. Monday. The loss and damage was valued at $3,500.

Burglary — First Block of Glen Oak Court, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 9:36 p.m. Monday. Items reported stolen included a 14-karat gold ring with citrine gemstone and six diamonds, a 14-karat gold ring with topaz gemstone and two diamonds, miscellaneous costume jewelry and an antique pump-action rifle. The loss was valued at $4,600.
