CENTRAL POINT — Foundation for Human Understanding founder Roy Masters was arrested following an altercation at the Talk Radio Network office on East Pine Street on Friday, authorities said.

Central Point were summoned to the office late afternoon, where they seized an undisclosed weapon and arrested the 89-year-old Masters.

Central Point police Lt. Randy Clark said a dispute over the property escalated, and a weapon was produced.  Further details were not available.

Masters was arrested on charges of menacing, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was lodged in Jackson County Jail and subsequently released on bail.

Clark said the matter has been referred to the Jackson County District Attorney's office.

The network traces its roots back to KOPE radio, which was founded by Masters, in the early 1990s. He moved to Josephine County in the late 1970s, setting up new headquarters for his Foundation of Human Understanding, which mixed hypnosis with religion and was declared a church in 1986. TRN still produces “Advice Line with Roy Masters.”
