Why didn't you guys report on the trial of Tucker Reed?

— Sharon, via email

Aisling Tucker Moore Reed, 27, who has worked as a Grants Pass Daily Courier reporter, blogged and published a novel under the name "Tucker Reed," has yet to stand trial on manslaughter accusations in her uncle's July 26, 2016, shooting.

Reed's August trial was postponed and has not yet been rescheduled, Jackson County Circuit Court records show. The motion to continue the trial to another date was made July 31 at the request of Reed's court-appointed defense lawyer, Anthony Griffin, on grounds that expert witnesses who will testify on Reed's behalf need more time to complete reports.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Reed's only upcoming court date is pretrial conference set for Oct. 9.

Reed, a former Ashland High School student and daughter of two New York Times bestselling authors, faces felony counts of first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Shane Patrick Moore, at Moore's mother's Applegate home. Reed's mother, Kelly Moore, has said that Shane Moore had attacked her and threatened Reed on the night of the shooting.

Reed has no criminal history aside from the pending case, court records show. Shane Moore was a convicted felon with a history of drug crimes.
